Fourteen NYSP leaders met in Washington D.C. on the evening of April 26 to formulate a strategy for garnering support for H.R. 4480, the National Youth Sports Program Revitalization Act of 2010.  Those attending included (back row, left to right): Lucille Hester, Nita Unruh, Bill Harris, Brenda Swearingin, Rochelle Taylor, Ruthie Kucharewski, Theresa Ferguson, Sharon Clark and Richard Watkins.  Front row (left to right): Damon Miller, Bob Case, Dennis Harris, Tim Hatten and Gale Wiedow. The delegation visited their respective House of Representatives members to seek support for H.R. 4480 and also met with their Senators to set the stage for efforts in the Senate.
Selected NYSP leaders met with LaDavia Drane (third from right) in the office of Congresswoman Marcia Fudge.  LaDavia serves as the Legislative Counsel for Ms. Fudge and has been an inspirational advocate for NYSP.  Not pictured is Clifton Williams, Legislative Aide to Ms. Fudge who has also been an active supporter of the NYSP effort.
