reinforce phonics. The Clifford stories are read to children on this same site
under Reading activities International Reading Association and
the Marco Polo site. http://www.marcopolo-education.org/ Starfall has on-line stories and songs which focus on
different phonics skills. Teachers can identify which skill a student needs and
students practice the skill with entertaining reinforcement. Check out author Jan Brett’s extensive website

to register, but the service is free. It may take a day or two to receive your
confirmation. Edmond Fry has developed his Fry Readability formula. This
formula helps teacher estimate the reading level of a piece of writing. This
application is helpful for student readers 7 years of age on up.
Authors and illustrators on the web Read*Write*Now! This website contains ideas for families, teacher, and
librarians to help children read independently by the end of third grade. Grandpa Tucker’s website has poetry and songs to be enjoyed
by all grade levels. Assessment: This website provides free rubrics under the title of
RubiStar. It is funded by a federal grant so when they ask for your name it is
used only as a method of counting how many are using the side. There are a variety of materials here for teachers from
