Dean Johnson wearing cool hat
Eric is a Professor of English and Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at Dakota State University. His office is 114 Beadle Hall. Eric earned his Ph.D. degree at the University of Notre Dame.

He enjoys writing -- mostly dull stuff even his cats will not read. He loves teaching -- especially tennis and the novels of Jane Austen and Charles Dickens.

During the summer of 1998, Eric will again teach a graduate course, Computing for the Humanities, via Internet to students throughout the world.

Publications:

Some of the Dean's profound books
Eric is the author or editor of over one hundred published volumes and monographs, articles, and papers. He has written a tennis textbook, reviews of electronic texts, editorials, articles about literary research, articles about writing and teaching with computers, reviews of classic works of children's literature, and a few other things.

Links to the full texts of some of his publications are found in his selected publications.

Teaching:

Beautiful Beadle Hall
Since he is a dean, Eric does not get to teach as much as he would like. He enjoys teaching classes via Internet as well as on-campus courses about novels, poetry, tennis, and cross-country skiing.
