Hi, I am Deana Hueners-Nelson. For the
past 10 years, I have been teaching a variety of courses at DSU,
including writing courses, literature courses, web publishing
courses, and reading and study skills courses.
I am originally from South Dakota and currently
live in Madison with my husband, who also is an English professor at
DSU. During the semester, course work and committee meetings keep me
pretty busy, but in my spare time I enjoy running, gardening,
cooking, and entertaining friends. My husband and I live in a 109
year-old Victorian house, so we usually have a home or yard
remodeling project in the works. And when we get a chance, we love
to travel.
Our most recent trip included a weekend in the
Cities to see Bruce Springsteen in concert. In June, we'll be
heading to Deadwood to participate in the Deadwood 1/2 Marathon. It
will be my second race and my first 1/2 marathon. In July, my
husband and I will either be teaching in China or standing atop a
14er in Colorado.
