Dear
Coach,
We
have 41 teams (23 varsity, 12 junior varsity, 6 frosh) registered for the
Dakota State University Team Camp. Teams
will need to check in at least 30 minutes BEFORE their first match. Tuesday
matches will begin at 9:00 AM. All teams will check in at the DAKOTA STATE
FIELDHOUSE and proceed from there to their playing facility. We will use a pool play format for Tuesday's
competition and Wednesday's pools will be based on Tuesday's results; Wednesday
an official's jamboree is being conducted so we will have high school volleyball
officials for part of the day on Wednesday. Tuesday's matches will be
officiated by DSU volleyball players and/or DSU coaches.
We
will use nine courts for this tournament; three courts in the Dakota State
Fieldhouse, two courts in the community center, two courts in
Tuesday’s
pools were randomly selected. Your teams
place finish on Tuesday will determine their division of play for Wednesday’s
matches. Tuesday's matches will be best
two out of three games to 25 points (cap at 27); if a third game is needed it
will be to 15 points (cap at 17). Seven
minutes (3-3-1) after a match has been completed, the next match will begin.
Teams will be allowed to use the libero, but she must wear different colored
tshirt or jersey. When teams are not playing, they may be line judging so
please keep your players informed of when they will be line judging.
Three
points will be awarded per match. If a team wins both games, they will get all
three points. If team's split, each team would be awarded a point and then the
team that won the match would get the third point.
We
will have a concession stand open for purchasing SWIRLS, water, powerade, pop
and various types of food. All proceeds
from the concession stand go directly back to the Trojan Volleyball Program so
please encourage your teams to enjoy our services.
